Original Casting Manager

About the Role:

We are looking for a Manager of Casting to join our expanding Original Content team. This role will be a key factor in supporting our rapidly growing slate of Original movies and series. Reporting to the VP of Original Content, your primary responsibility will be to oversee all casting for Originals (Scripted and Unscripted). We are looking for someone who has strong industry connections as well as an eye for discovering new talent.

We are currently working in a hybrid capacity and would need this hire to be located in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:

• Shaping and managing the department's overall casting workflow, working with the Scripted and Unscripted teams to identify talent
• Collaborate with producers, directors, and writers to determine casting and production requirements
• Identify hosts/talent for a robust Unscripted slate
• Read and study scripts and screenplays to understand roles, their characteristics, and attributes
• Prepare lists of possible leading/supportive actors to executives, producers, and directors
• Discuss casting decisions with Tubi executives, directors, and other professionals and provide feedback on the performance during auditions
• Act as a primary link between talent and producers as well as Tubi executives during the casting process
• Hold general meetings with agents and managers to bring in talent from their rosters
• Scout talent via comedy clubs, theater, events, TikTok, reality TV, sports, etc. 
• Juggle casting multiple projects simultaneously

Your Background:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years experience at a production company, studio, network, and/or streamer
• Exceptional ability to identify and source talented actors
• Knowledge of influencers and the potential to tap into the appeal of TikTok/Instagram/reality talent
• Strong relationships with managers and agents
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Knowledgeable of union and non-union requirements
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Encyclopedic knowledge and passion for movies and television shows
• In-depth knowledge of script analysis, acting techniques, and industry trends
• The ability to work in a high-volume environment with an emphasis on speed as well as quality control
• A proactive and collaborative team player who can work both independently and cross-functionally
