Position Overview:

El Camino Health Medical Network (ECHMN) is seeking a compassionate and board-certified Pulmonologist to join our ambulatory clinic. This role offers the opportunity to practice meaningful, relationship-based medicine in a community setting while managing chronic and complex respiratory conditions in an outpatient environment. Ideal candidates are team-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to improving respiratory health in our local population.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of pulmonary conditions in an outpatient clinic setting (e.g., COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis, sarcoidosis).
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function testing (PFTs), chest X-rays, and CT scans.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, hospitalists, and specialists within the hospital network to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
  • Participate in community outreach, patient education, and initiatives to improve respiratory health and reduce hospital readmissions.
  • Support the integration of care with respiratory therapy, sleep medicine, and smoking cessation programs.
  • Maintain detailed, timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EPIC).
  • May provide telehealth services for follow-up and chronic disease management.
  • Optional inpatient consultative support (schedule to be determined).

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pulmonary Disease.
  • Fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine required.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in California.
  • Strong clinical and communication skills.

Schedule & Call:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Inpatient rounding 4 days a month.
  • Shared clinic-based call for urgent follow-ups (minimal volume).
