The Role
Billd is looking for a high-performing Paralegal to support our Legal Operations department. The role will help drive the efficiency and effectiveness of our Legal Operations team by organizing, streamlining, and coordinating the Legal Operations team around high-importance legal matters.

The Role
Billd is looking for a high-performing Paralegal to support our Legal Operations department. The role will help drive the efficiency and effectiveness of our Legal Operations team by organizing, streamlining, and coordinating the Legal Operations team around high-importance legal matters.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous Paralegal experience and have a natural desire to:
- Organize important, sensitive, and confidential documentation
- Conduct research & legal due diligence on new & existing legal matters
- Maintain high levels of data integrity for analytic & reporting purposes
Location
Austin, TX in-office
Key Responsibilities
- Identify important deadlines and maintain attorney calendars
- Prepare and organize litigation case files
- Communicate professionally and effectively with outside counsel and vendors
- Assist in drafting and editing agreements and correspondence
- Conduct legal research with the assistance of attorneys
- Proofread, finalize, and coordinate the mailing of certified letters
- Work and coordinate with other departments to obtain information needed for legal success
- Maintain the integrity of legal data for reporting purposes
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 3 years' experience at a litigation law firm (preferably commercial litigation)
- Paralegal certification or commensurate legal experience
- Capability and experience to work independently and conduct legal research
- Strong organizational skills, writing capabilities, and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and deliverables
- Willingness to adapt to fast-paced environment at an early-stage company
- Desire to learn about financial products and the construction industry
- Desire to work with and be a part of a larger team to achieve company goals
- Positive, personable, and focused attitude
- Applicants with only criminal law experience will not be considered
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Familiarity with Westlaw and Salesforce
- Prior experience with commercial collections, construction liens and bonds, and/or bankruptcy
- Understanding of the Federal and State Rules of Civil Procedure
