Pastry Chef – TuCha (Koreatown, Los Angeles, CA) About TuCha TuCha is a modern boba and Asian dessert shop located in the heart of Koreatown, Los Angeles. We specialize in premium Asian-inspired desserts and drinks, in collaboration with Catherine Zhang (@catherine.desserts), winner ofZumbo’s Just DessertsSeason 2, to create innovative and high-quality offerings. We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Pastry Chef to join our team. This role focuses on preparing consistent, high-quality desserts while supporting efficient daily kitchen operations. You’ll report to the Head Pastry Chef and Store Manager. Compensation & Schedule • Pay:$22.00 – $27.00 per hour • Type:Part-Time (20–40 hours/week) or Full-Time (40 hours/week) • Availability:Must be available on weekends • Shifts:Morning, afternoon, evening, or overnights depending on kitchen needs Key Responsibilities Pastry Production • Prepare and bake core pastry components (e.g., doughs, batters, fillings) • Portion and store ingredients for team use • Maintain consistency and quality using TuCha’s recipes • Label and store items to ensure freshness and organization Kitchen Operations • Work efficiently and independently to complete prep tasks • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation • Measure and scale ingredients accurately to reduce waste • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation protocols Inventory & Equipment • Track inventory and report shortages to management • Clean and maintain kitchen tools and equipment after use Qualifications • 2+ years of professional pastry or baking experience • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and dessert preparation • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume setting • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely • Flexible availability, including weekends • Valid Food Handler’s Certificate (or willing to obtain before start date) Location TuCha Koreatown Los Angeles, CA 90005 (In-person role) Perks • Employee discount How to Apply If you’re a skilled pastry chef eager to join a growing dessert concept and bring innovative ideas to life, we’d love to hear from you.
