Job Description
Payroll Administrator II
AvidXchange is seeking a Payroll Administrator II to be heavily involved with processing the bi-weekly payroll for the Company as well as other payroll-related duties. This role serves as a backup for the Payroll Manager
What you'll do
- Help to ensure hours worked get recorded accurately, employees are paid on time and correctly, and the business is compliant with relevant taxes and other laws
- Provide customer support to employees, respond to emails to the Payroll inbox, and answer questions when employees drop in
- Answer employee questions related to pay
- Problem solve to ensure compliance with payroll deadlines, review for errors to ensure accuracy
- Resolve timecard discrepancies by working with employees, supervisors, and managers, including PTO approvals
- Calculate pay according to hours worked, verifying leaves, employee status changes, and overtime
- Uploads and verifies monthly commissions/bonuses, Gift Card recipients, Novant Deducts, Tax Adjustments, and Pay Code reclassifications as needed
- Audits deductions for discrepancies and works with HR for corrections
- Process off-cycle payments when needed
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Supports payroll tax function to ensure taxes are timely filed and paid; responds to notice
What we're looking for
- 3+ years' experience in payroll processing
- Attention to detail; strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
- Familiarity with payroll regulations and concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including intermediate to advanced Excel
