Job Overview
The Payroll Analyst position within the Payroll Support Team will have payroll expertise, including Company Stock Programs, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation (NQDC), Payroll Tax and Garnishments, and General Payroll Operations to perform a variety of project related work, some technical support for HR Payroll systems and troubleshoot payroll process issues along with assist on escalations. The Payroll Analyst will report to the Payroll Manager and provide subject matter expertise to the Payroll Services and Operations Team and partners to support process design and improvements.
The primary purpose of this position is to contribute in the development of programs and processes to ensure payroll compliance and efficient processing within Payroll Operations. Successful individuals will be adept at prioritization and organization of tasks, assigned and unassigned, at all times to achieve operational effectiveness and communicating to leadership and the team on projects.
This position will support the Payroll Services and Operations Team and works in a highly collaborative team environment which is expected to drive a positive culture with teammates through support, coaching, and mentoring. The position partners with internal client groups as a representative of the Payroll Support Team, including but not limited to Legal, Accounting and Finance, Commissions, and HR Solutions, to drive solutions and provide consulting to ensure efficient process design.
This position offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week minimum in the Overland Park, KS office.
Job Responsibilities:

Represent the Payroll Support Team as a subject matter expert on company-wide projects, including all cross-functional work related to Payroll Services and Operations, which includes Stock, ESPP programs, NQDC and payroll related executive compensation items. This position will participate in the coordination of timelines, attendance of meetings, contribute work to project plan, create test scripts, perform UAT testing and validate data.

Lead small payroll projects, from the creation of timelines, facilitation of meetings, the delegation of duties, take notes and follow up and confirm completion of tasks.

Ownership of highly sensitive compensation, including the payroll set up, processing, auditing, and reconciling payroll programs, including Stock, ESPP, NQDC and payroll related executive compensation items for accurate payment and reporting. Ensure compliance of all programs adheres through audits and reconciliation.

Promote best practices and standardization, increase automation, develop reconciliation procedures, identify and implement needed improvements of department processes, procedures and audits to improve operational effectiveness, increase accuracy and ensure legal compliance.

Support legal compliance and be the point of contact for requests from the Legal department, or other assigned internal teams.

Level I quality control checkpoint of the full payroll production cycle.

Consistently work to deliver an exemplary customer experience by applying knowledge of trends in our industry and innovating to create the next practices.

Research and analyze payroll data to identify trends, issues and drive accuracy.

Support year-end and quarter-end payroll activities, including organizing meetings and deliverables with all team partners and tasks for the production team. Ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Aptitude to develop strong working relationships and proactively communicate to team, leadership, collaborators, partners, and customers to resolve any issues that might prevent timely processing or result in integrity issues.

Ability to work in a fast-paced & high-pressure environment with precise accuracy while meeting deadlines.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
Work Experience:
- 4+ years of progressive payroll experience (Required)
- Experience performing numerous functions of HR, Payroll, reporting applications, and system integrations (Required)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Problem Solving: Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, critical thinking, set priorities, problem-solve, and make decisions and follow-through (Required)
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to relay sophisticated information succinctly (Required)
- Customer Service: Provide consulting skills to internal and external partners to drive standard methodologies (Required)
- Analytics: Ability to apply analytical reasoning in problem assessment and resolution so must be proficient with using root cause analysis concepts (Required)
- Microsoft Excel: Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and sophisticated formulas (Required)
- Data Management: Validated ability to analyze large volumes of data and make data-driven decisions and recommendations (Required)
- Proven ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish organizational goals (Required)
- Project Management: Project or process management experience a plus (Required)
- Kronos Timekeeping: Expertise with Kronos systems (Preferred)
- ADP Vantage: Expertise with ADP Vantage (Preferred)
- Workday: Expertise with Workday (Preferred)
- Lean Six Sigma: Experience with applying the Lean Sigma Principles (Preferred)
- Payroll: Experience with payroll in the U.S. Territories (Preferred)
- Payroll: Extensive Payroll experience with a 30k+ multi-state employee base (Preferred)
- Compensation: Administration Experience processing stock programs and Executive compensation (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $54,500 - $98,400
Corporate Bonus Target: 10%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
