Payroll Tax Filing Specialist

Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week

Essential Job Duties

A Payroll Tax Filing Specialist is dedicated to servicing our clients’ payroll tax accounts and filings. This may be achieved by researching tax agency rules and managing client tax maintenance within the BambooHR systems. Perhaps it is reading up on tax changes, income limits, or state registration processes. In the end, the Payroll Tax Filing Specialist ensures the accuracy of tax setup by clients for successful reporting! 

What Your Daily Responsibilities Will Be

• Maintain state workload with independence 
• Research taxes to become familiar with general setup and rules by agency
• Maintain client tax account maintenance
• Escalate clients not fulfilling tax service requirements
• Process tax adjustments and audit for accuracy
• Verify accuracy of client tax setup for valid processing 
• Work with clients timely for required tasks to service the tax accurately
• Research and resolve tax notices
• Collect and return tax monies from clients
• Maintain TPA notes and heed department and company SOPs in Slite
• Monitor the Service Cloud queues to ensure SLA’s are met 
• Perform filing and payment tasks while maintaining accuracy
• File returns by specified deadlines
• Prepare and process late filings or amendments
• Research and resolve out of balance tax payments
• Audit peer tax filings
• Maintain tracking documents
• Apply ancillary fees for billable services
• Resolve EFT Credit access withholding payment issues 
• Assist other payroll departments and teams with tax related tasks
