Position Overview:

Join a dynamic and dedicated team of pediatric infectious diseases specialists at Marshall Pediatrics. We are seeking a third faculty member to join our division and serve as Section Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. The position includes providing exceptional inpatient care at Hoops Family Children's Hospital (HFCH)—a 72-bed pediatric specialty hospital within Cabell Huntington Hospital—and outpatient care at our Marshall Pediatrics facilities.

Why Join Our Team?

· Leadership Opportunity: Step into a formal leadership role as Section Chief, helping shape the direction and growth of our Pediatric Infectious Diseases division.

· Small but Mighty: Be part of a close-knit, mission-driven team delivering the highest-quality care to an underserved population.

· Location: Based in Huntington, WV, a vibrant and affordable community with access to four-season outdoor recreation and within driving distance of Cincinnati, Columbus, and Lexington.

· Academic Excellence: As a faculty member at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine (MU-JCESOM), you will play an active role in training medical students, residents, and fellows.

· Impact: Serve a region with significant infectious diseases needs and make a lasting difference in a medically underserved population.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver comprehensive inpatient care at HFCH and outpatient ID consultations in our Marshall Pediatrics clinics.

· Serve as Section Chief, helping lead strategic growth, faculty development, and collaboration across hospital departments.

· Participate in the education of pediatric residents, NICU and hospitalist fellows, and medical students through MU-JCESOM.

· Address diverse and rewarding pathology across the Tri-State area (WV, OH, KY) with a balanced clinical load.

· Pursue academic interests in research, advocacy, quality improvement, or administration, supported by the department.

Qualifications

· Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.

· Demonstrated or aspiring leadership capabilities; prior experience as a section chief or division lead is helpful but not required.

· Passion for serving a diverse, medically underserved pediatric population.

· Dedication to academic medicine and mentoring the next generation of physicians.

· J-1 visa waiver applicants are welcomed and encouraged to apply – y’all means all.
