Foresite Labs is seeking a motivated people operations coordinator to join a new venture in the life sciences industry. Foresite Labs is a team of data scientists and engineers deriving insights from precision measurement and population-scale biological data to uncover solutions for unmet medical needs and long standing problems in healthcare. Through internal incubation of new ventures, our goal is to create the preeminent portfolio of companies at the interface of data science and healthcare.Â
About the Role
We are aiming to build an organization in which people & culture are at the center of what we do. We hire the best data scientists and engineers, and provide them with the support and tools they need to invest in, incubate and grow companies that will revolutionize healthcare. We are seeking our first full-time people operations coordinator to work across Labs and our newly incubated companies (newcos). You might be working on the Labs compensation adjustment cycle one week, then deployed to a newco to set up an HR platform and payroll the following week. We’re seeking someone with 2-3 years of related experience in HR or recruiting, some exposure to the life sciences, and an interest in learning and growing alongside us. This would be an ideal role for someone looking to expand beyond a recruiting coordinator position into a broader HR role. This will be a hybrid role for someone located in the Bay Area and able to work out of our office and on site at newcos on the peninsula on a regular basis.Â
Responsibilities
- Recruiting
- Manage the process of posting open roles, scheduling interviews, and coordinating the candidate experience for all Labs positions and positions at our newly incubated companies (newcos), including coordinating on site interviews
- Own our applicant tracking system (Greenhouse), training managers on its use, and providing reports as needed
- Manage external job posting sites and recruiting agencies
- Employee relations
- Respond to candidate and employee inquiries regarding HR policies, systems and benefits across Labs and its newcos
- Newco HR infrastructure
- As we incubate new companies, you will be the point person to set up its HR infrastructure
- Select an HRIS, and work with the accounting and finance team to implement payroll and benefits
- Create an onboarding process and oversee its flawless execution
- Benefits management
- Serve as the internal contact for benefits vendors for new benefits additions, renewals, and employee enrollment for Labs and its incubated companies
- HRIS management
- Own our HR information system (BambooHR), training managers employees on its use, and providing reports as needed
- Event management
- Plan Coordinate and execute recruiting events such as open houses and happy hours
- Performance management
- Manage a company-wide, lightweight annual performance management program
- Other duties as assigned; we expect this position to will grow in responsibilities as the company grows
Qualifications
- 2+ years of human resources experience in a technology or life sciences environment including recruiting coordination
- Exposure to or interest in the life sciences industry a plus
- Comfortable learning new tools and software applications
- High level of discretion; experience dealing with sensitive topics such as compensation and performance
- Demonstrated experience engaging with employees in a supportive manner; able to build strong internal relationships with mutual respect and trust
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Salary Range: $75k - $100k
