Silverwork is the future of mortgage automation, and we need help building and supporting a strong, scalable, and remote FinTech startup at an exciting time in our evolution. That’s where our People Operations Coordinator comes in.


Teaming up with our Director of People Operations, the People Operations Coordinator will drive the tactical aspects of People Operations and free them up to focus on more strategic initiatives. If you’ve worked at a small tech business or startup before, you know that there are unlimited opportunities to directly impact a dynamic and rapidly growing company. At Silverwork, that includes culture building and social initiatives, full candidate and employee lifecycle, and general HR. This person wears multiple hats, including but not limited to: HR Tactical Expert, Cruise Director, Documentation Wrangler, Benefits Coordinator, Data Integrity Checker, Learning Leader, and Cultural Mentor, and many of them simultaneously. The ideal person for this role gets energized by owning diverse processes and programs that require multiple skill sets.

Requirements

What you bring:

- Professional and learning experience: At least 1-2 years of human resources or people operations experience, preferably in a startup or small tech company. (Don’t worry if your title doesn’t include those terms – what you did in those roles is the important part.) Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required for the right amount of experience. An aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification will take you to the front of the line, though.

- People-first focus: You have a clear enthusiasm for contributing to and helping cultivate a culture that is authentic, collaborative, and diverse. Our employees are humans first, employees second, and you always keep that in mind when designing People Ops programs and systems to engage and support a young, remote workforce.

- Excellent communication skills: You’ll be communicating regularly with candidates, new hires, employees, hiring managers, and leadership, so confident written communication and highly developed interpersonal skills are essential. Tone is especially important with a remote team, and you recognize (and maybe even pride yourself on) that.

- Detail-oriented and meticulous: You’re exceptionally organized, process-oriented, and can independently juggle high-priority tasks, multi-task, and context switch with ease.

- Professionalism: Confidentiality persists on every level of this role, and a proven sense of integrity, discretion, and ethical drive are a must.

- Tech-savvy mindset: You pick up new software quickly and get excited when you find a way to make things more efficient using technology - familiarity with HR tools, such as HRIS (BambooHR preferred), ATS (we use Comeet), Slack, Airtable, and Microsoft 365 suite will help.

- Creative and entrepreneurial: You’re a self-starter with a desire to work in a startup environment, an ability to learn on the fly, and an eagerness to figure out how to do things better and more efficiently.

- Chicago love: While our workforce is currently remote, it’s hard to do People Operations right without some face-to-face time. So it’s helpful that you live in the Chicagoland area.
