Job Description
Our goal as a People Operations team is to create and refine processes, systems, and tools that improve the employee experience, increase efficiency, and minimize risk. As a People Operations Generalist you will support this goal by acting as the point-person for employee questions, creating and updating policies and processes, and maintaining data in our HCMS and other tools.  You will also support the larger People and Culture team as needed with tasks such as recruiting support, training, and onboarding.
Position Responsibilities:Â- Executes all position responsibilities in alignment with Slingshot’s core values, mission, and purpose
- Manage and triage incoming employee questions and requests through Jira help desk, email and Slack; ensure timely responses
- Provide support to employees regarding various people-related topics, such as compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, and policy application; escalate issues as needed
- Maintain employee data and ensure accuracy, perform periodic compliance auditsÂ
- Administer payrolls with extreme accuracy and attention to detail
- Provide support as needed to Talent Acquisition team, including candidate communication and facilitating and/or conducting interviews
- Provide support as needed to Organizational Enablement and Workplace Experiences teams, including new employee communications and training administrationÂ
- Suggest recommendations for improving systems, tools and processes to increase efficiency
- Participate in development of people and culture goals and objectives
- Communicate performance through metrics and reportsÂ
- Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the People and Culture department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience
- Ensure legal compliance of employment related state and federal regulations, update policies and/or procedures as required
- Keep up-to-date with latest HR trends and best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above)
- Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for government clearances
- 2+ years of experience in HR Generalist, benefits administration, or similar role
- Working knowledge of state-specific employment/labor laws
- Excellent communication skills, high EQ
- Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude; comfortable working in the gray
- Occasional travel (up to once per quarter)
- PHR/SHRM Certification
- Experience working with next-generation HCM (Rippling, BambooHR, Zenefits, etc.)
- Experience working for a government contractor
- Experience working at a remote-first and/or multi-state organization
- Experience with a global/international workforce
