Role at-glance

Paystand’s first Human Resources Specialist will support a newly formed People Ops team by providing HR services to members of the People Ops team and also Paystand’s leaders, team members, candidates, and Paystand vendors. This role will work with cross-functional teams to create and support people processes that help advocate Paystand’s vision, mission, and strategy.

The HR Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of human resources administrative tasks. The role supports People Ops deliverables such as updating & maintaining HR’s database, processing employee requests, managing HR’s involvement in onboarding/offboarding processes, and keeping employee, contingent worker, I9, and exited employee files current and legally compliant. The individual in this role will have the ability to make a huge impact on the future of Paystand’s culture and help tie our people strategy to our overall business goals.

This temporary role can be located in either Paystand’s US or MX facilities. 


Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Maintain employee records (soft and hard copies)
  • Assist the payroll department with requests by providing relevant employee data
  • Understand and communicate HR policies and procedures
  • Process employee requests and provide relevant information to managers
  • Coordinate HR projects, meetings and communications
  • Manage new employee onboarding, conduct new employee orientations and exit interviews for departing employees
  • Reply to all requests to the Human Resources department for employment verifications and to immigration related inquiries
  • Update and maintain BambooHR with all pertinent HR related information and create HR’s dashboard
  • Manage Paystand’s new hire, evergreen, merger/acquisition and exiting equity option reporting, working closely with Paystand’s outside equity services provider
  • Function as back-up for office efficiency and management
  • Assist with special projects on an as needed basis

Knowledge and Skills

  • This role requires excellent organizational skills and time management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced work environment and as part of a team
  • Ability to support People Ops duties with focus on best in class customer service
  • Basic knowledge of payroll and HR procedures and processes

Credentials and Experience

  • Proven work experience as an HR administrative assistant or HR administrator
  • Hands on experience with HRMS
  • Proven work experience with private company stock equity programs
  • PC literacy and experience with MS Office and Google applications
  • AA or BS degree in Human Resources or relevant field or completion of an HR certification program preferred
