Summary
This position will be assigned to the Lackland Skills Development Center.
This is a flexible category position, with no guaranteed hours, may work up to 40 hours per week. Scheduled as needed. Employees appointed to a flexible (intermittent) category position are not eligible for benefits.

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- This position requires the incumbent to a Citizen or a Legal U.S. Resident for a minimum of 3 years and must reside in/around the area as noted in the Job Opportunity Announcement.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Are you willing and able to work an assigned shift to meet work requirements?

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of a limited range of woodworking materials, techniques and processes; skill in basic layout procedures for repetitive assignments; skill in use of a variety of hand and power tools such as drills, hammers, miter box, frame cutters, and corner jigs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
1. Basic knowledge of a limited range of woodworking techniques and processes, skill in basic layout procedures for repetitive assignments and skill in selecting a limited variety of frequently used wood and wood substitute materials for appropriate use in filling customer orders.
2. Skill in cutting material to proper size and angle, fitting and securely installing bracing devices and nails, and in using hand and power tools.
3. Ability to calculate lengths, widths, and weights.
4. Must possess skill in dealing with the public.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
