Department Overview

The Employee Enablement Engineering team is responsible for providing Innovation, Design, Execution and Maintenance solutions for a variety of technology products.

As the Employee Enablement organization advances towards the future of Modern Managed productivity platforms leveraging Windows 11, macOS, and Mobile platforms, there is a need for expertise in optimizing the performance of these endpoints, using data and evidence driven techniques. We are seeking a Platform Performance Engineer to architect, develop, and implement a reliable framework through which performance shortcomings can be identified, assessed, and corrected or improved upon. This role will involve architectural design, evaluation of and integration with modern endpoint management systems, and design of control and security policies. It will also require deep familiarity with platform system internals, and root-cause analysis. The candidate will also work with internal support areas, data security risk and control teams, business technical support teams, and external vendors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following accountabilities:

Define, engineer, and design Enterprise-wide performance measuring systems.

Define, engineer, and design solutions in conjunction with desktop or platform engineers to improve performance in all areas identified

Assess and select product capabilities and features, ensure multiple technologies are not providing overlapping capabilities, driving down technology complexity, and driving cost reductions

Interface with the security controls and risk teams.

Provide 3rd level consultation requests and support

Expert knowledge of specific domain or range of engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes and procedures, as well as organization issues

Expert knowledge of TD applications, systems, networks, innovation, design activities, best practices, business/organization, Bank standards, and may fulfill a governance role

Expert knowledge and experience in own discipline; integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities

Acts as a key contributor in a complex and critical environment

May provide leadership to teams or projects; shares expertise

Applies in-depth skills and broad knowledge of the business to address complex problems and non-standard situations

Job Requirements

Bachelor's or Graduate degree

Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering)

7 + years relevant experience

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications - Here are the preferred qualifications for this role:

Deep systems internal knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, particularly Windows 10/11

Deep knowledge of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Build Automation

Extensive experience with performance and issue analysis tooling and framework. NextThink experience is a major plus

Experience with Microsoft Intune, Office 365 and Azure

Advanced scripting skills and knowledge of Windows PowerShell

Organized, self-motivated with the ability to work in a team

Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent analytical, problem solving and documentation skills

Nice to Have:

Knowledge of Enterprise Mobility Management solutions, both Mobile Device Management and Mobile Application Management

Experience with macOS, and Linux operating systems.

Knowledge of Active Directory, ADFS, Azure AD

Programming languages including C++, C#, .NET Framework, Visual Studio IDE

Familiarity with RESTful web-based APIs
