Reports to:Campus PrincipalPay Grade:N01 Terms of Employment: • 182 days per year. • At-Will employment agreement. • Salary is in the pay grade N01 on the Non-Exempt SAISD Compensation Plan. • Entry hourly is at $16.50 with consideration fordirectly related experience. FLSA Classification:Non-Exempt Funding Source: This position is locally funded Position Summary Primary Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of cafeteria during, between, and after food serving times. Secondary Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds. Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities 1. Keep all areas of cafeteria neat, clean and sanitary, with special attention given to chairs and/or benches, wall area at tray drop off, and floor during, between, and after serving times. 2. Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash. 3. Keep all areas of school building and school grounds neat, clean and sanitary, including sidewalks, parking lots, play areas, athletic facilities, restrooms and office areas. 4. Maintain a regular cleaning schedule that includes floors, white/chalkboards, trash baskets and bins, carpets, furniture, fixtures, windows, equipment, restrooms, school yard and other areas as designated by the direct supervisor. 5. Assist with maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and complete supply requests as needed. 6. Report preventative maintenance in the cafeteria to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff. 7. Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide appropriate temperatures and ensure efficient use of fuel, water, and electricity. 9. Perform minor building repairs and report major repairs, along with completed work requisition, to the direct supervisor. 10. Move furniture and equipment as directed by principal. 11. Assist with setting up and taking down facilities/equipment for special events. 12. Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash. 13. Follow established procedures for locking, checking and safeguarding facilities. 16. Check daily that all exit doors, panic bolts and fire safety equipment are working properly during hours of building occupancy. 17. Inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency. 18. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. 19. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report to direct supervisor hazardous conditions that cannot be fixed. 20. Compile, maintain and file all reports, records, and other required documents applicable to position 21. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position. Minimum Requirements • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Occasionalexposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc. Physical Demands/Requirements: • Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting,standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
