Backflip is seeking a Post-Close Processor to join our Post-Close Experience Team to ensure Backflip delivers a best-in-class Member experience. As an early hire, this individual will play a critical role in ensuring Backflip has an industry leading Member Success function that is designed to scale. This hire will play a key role in ensuring Backflip’s culture continues to be enlivened in the operation.
We’re looking for candidates who possess strong technical and communication skills with a passion for facilitating an exceptional Member journey, and thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Success in this role requires learning quickly while balancing structure and autonomy. This position is remote (U.S.) and reports to the Sr. Director of Loan Operations. This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor (~50 person team) working directly with senior leaders in a fast-paced and well-capitalized startup (Series A).
Some travel is required (e.g. - company offsites).

Primary Responsibilities
- Proactively manage the post-close pipeline to ensure each Member feels valued, empowered, and is set up for success
- Process rehab draws utilizing our software platform, including coordinating progress inspections and serving as the Member point of contact
- Manage a loan payoff pipeline by tracking requests and facilitating the preparation of payoff statements in a timely manner
- Process loan extension requests in collaboration with Backflip's Asset Management team
- Communicate proactively with Members to get ahead of issues and protect Backflip’s loan performance track record
- Effectively handle Member escalations, as applicable
- Provide each Member with a welcome call upon their loan closing
- Uphold communication SLA’s; ensure borrowers receive timely responsesÂ
- Work with the broader team to develop opportunities to engage Members with Community and Product
- Support Backflip’s Capital Markets team to complete related processing tasks and resolve investor conditions
This role will evolve as the company grows; there will be various tasks that fall outside of the responsibilities above.
Qualifications - Role Specific
- 2+ years of experience in a customer service position
- 1+ year of experience in a mortgage or FinTech operations role
- Experience with short-term bridge loans or construction loans is a plus
- Passionate about the Member Experience; energized by building healthy customer relationships
- Interest in real estate investing and excited about understanding our member’s investment journey
- Prior work at a high-growth start-up is a plus
- Experience with real estate renovations and project management is a plus
- General understanding of basic real estate investment concepts (or demonstrated desire to learn); comfortable performing basic math calculations
- Exemplary computer skills - demonstrated ability and desire to learn new technologies (we use Slack + Notion + Google Workspace + Front + HubSpot + more)
- Basic spreadsheet skills (Excel; Google Sheets)
