Principal Application Architect - Cloud

Cognizant is looking for a Dynamic Principal Application Architect with experience leading the design and development of complex software systems and applications. This individual will be the technical expert within the ADM Delivery Team that will collaborate with our customers, accounts and delivery teams to create innovative and compelling solutions for our customers and executing with delivery excellence to create incremental value.

This role is also expected to lead several architects in the implementation and delivery of Digital Transformation solutions for our customers in the cloud. Also will be responsible for developing technology governance programs to ensure all delivery is being done in a consistent manner leveraging newer open source technology stacks, DevSecOps best practices, code reviews and implementing re-usable code artifacts. RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Collaborate with Clients and Solution Architects to understand their strategic, business, and technical needs.

- Identify gaps in the client environment, process, and skills with the intent to address, educate, and bring their teams together to drive consensus through transparency

- Explain and educate complex solutions and integrations in a clear and articulate manner

- Articulate Cognizant's framework and engagement approach around our Cloud and modernization offerings from a technical and business perspective

- Mentor and lead a team of Architects to review proposed solutions and assess deliverability feasibility and create detailed Technology Reference Architecture

- Plan and design the structure of a technology solution for given proposal

- Ability to Detail Reference Architecture to Sprints/POD's

- Evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods

- Provide technical SME support in reviewing large transformational / complex technical solutions / data models in terms of compliance to requirements, efficiency of solution or implementation

- Collaborate with the technology community to bring best practices on various technologies and tools

- Develop solution blueprint - involving partner capabilities, in-house capabilities and new build

- Create in-house capabilities to support delivery in these new offerings

- Implement Technology & Architecture Governance within the development teams to ensure architecture & quality standards alignment and coding best practices.

- Create Reusable artifacts from perspective of technology, product, domain and infrastructure as applicable from past solutions

- Perform proof of concepts demonstrating the gains in cost reduction, productivity improvements, turnaround time

- Become a thought leader by educating and sharing best practices, building deep relationships with technical leaders, contributing to publications, white papers, conferences, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 15+ years of core technology experience in playing different types of lead architect roles for large engagements

- Experience in Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, PCF, Docker, Kubernates) and DevOps (Jenkins, Git, VSTS, AzureDevops, SonarQube, JIRA, SonarLint)

- Proficient in new age technology and architecture paradigms

- Hands on experience in Re-Engineering and Refactoring Applications

- Technology governance (setup, best practices, boilerplate)

- Substantial delivery and hands-on experience

- Experience in leading technology solutions for large business proposals

- Proven experience in playing a Technology Practice Head role

- Leading and establishing large technology practice

- Managing a team of senior technology leaders

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Lead technology driven organizational strategies

- Presence in industry forums

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Cloud Certifications

- Experience in building solutions in IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Cloud Native models.

- Experience in building overall cost model and optimization in Cloud.

- Experience in migrating complex workloads like Applications to Cloud.
