We are currently seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to work (hybrid) out of our headquarters in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area. (relocation provided)

What You Will Do:
As a Principal Embedded Software Engineer, you will support new product development for Stryker's NeuroSurgical division, where you will be working to bring advancement and intelligence to surgical execution. These exciting technologies provide procedural solutions within the cranial and spinal fusion space. Another great example of Stryker making healthcare better for our customers!
Technical Responsibilities:
- Lead/mentor teams in medical device design.
- Apply advanced engineering concepts across products.
- Integrate new technologies.
- Guide architecture decisions.
- Translate user needs to designs.
- Develop complex systems.
Business Responsibilities:
- Understand industry, collaborate on strategies.
- Partner with customers, drive customer-centric design.
- Collaborate on financial/business modeling.
- Apply standards, advise on documentation.
- Lead standards/regulations development.
- Take advantage of opportunities to gain clinical knowledge.
General Responsibilities:
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts.
- Enhance processes, mentor talent.
- Lead complex product development.
- Maintain quality, influence standards.
What You Will Need: (Required)
- Bachelor's degree completed in Software Engineering/ Computer Science or related discipline and 8+ years of work experience.
- Prior embedded motor control experience.
- Proficient C/C++ programming language experience.
- Experience with Algorithm implementation.
- Control systems/PID/FOC experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly desired):
- Test strategy, verification experience
- Requirements management experience (Traceability with industry-standard tools such as DOORS, Polarian, Jama Connect)
- Real-time system design
- Software profiling/optimization
- ARM Cortex-M (STM32) and or Xilinx Zynq familiarity
- Software build automation knowledge (CI/CD)
- Familiarity with IEC 62304 and ISO 14971
