Principal Engineer, Firmware (OpenBMC)

Responsibilities 

SambaNova is hiring a senior-level Firmware Engineer in SambaNova’s Infrastructure Product Goup. In this role you will be responsible for working in the engineering team in Palo Alto developing platforms for our RDU. You will work closely with our hardware and software engineering teams to develop the platform software that our other engineering teams depend on for the final product definition.

• Define and implement next generation firmware architecture
• Develop and validate enterprise-level servers that power our next-gen AI platform
• Enable fully automated CI/CD pipeline for firmware release

Basic Qualifications

• BS in EE/CS (or related discipline)
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience 

Additional Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in OpenBMC (or other embedded Linux) and RTOS
• Strong Linux fundamentals
• Experience in device driver development such as I2C/I3C, SPI, SMBus, PCIe
• Knowledge of Ethernet and IP networking standards
• Demonstrable knowledge of computer security and authentication schemes, TPM
• Experience with C, C++, Python and shell

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of high availability (HA) systems, management
• Familiarity with DMTF standards, Redfish and Server products
• Experience in working with open source projects.
• Experience in hands-on lab and bring-up activities, as well as knowledge of design for product and manufacturing
• You like to work in a fast-paced environment using agile methods

Annual Salary Range and Level

The base salary for this position ranges from $165,000/year up to $180,000/year. This range is based on role, level, and location and reflects the salary target for new hires in the US. Individual pay within the range will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s job-related qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
