As a
Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer, you will be developing systems using current technologies and others yet to come. What you'll get to do:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Be responsible for the hands-on integration and test of individual antennas, phased array antennas, RF circuits, passive RF components, and RF systems

This requisition may be filled as either a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Eng:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and a minimum of 5 years of hands-on RF test experience; 3 years with a Master's degree; 0 years with a PhD
* Hands-on experience using commercial test equipment (i.e., vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, signal generators)
* U.S. Citizenship and a U.S. Government Secret Clearance (or higher) at time of application is required
* Be available to travel OCONUS for 90 to 120-day increments (up to 50% annually)
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Systems Eng:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and a minimum of 8 years of hands-on RF test experience; 6 years with a Master's degree; 4 years with a PhD
* Hands-on experience using commercial test equipment (i.e., vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, signal generators)
* U.S. Citizenship and a U.S. Government Secret Clearance (or higher) at time of application is required
* Be available to travel OCONUS for 90 to 120-day increments (up to 50% annually)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience testing and characterizing products that utilize advanced waveforms
* Experience with temperature, shock, burn-in and environmental testing (including MIL-STD 810G)
* Experience using Linux and developing software applications that run on Linux-based computer systems
* Participate and guide the testing of RF hardware for required performance metrics: VSWR, insertion loss, gain, polarization, radar cross section (RCS), etc.
* Mentor and guide more junior engineers and technicians in the design, build, and test phases of RF projects and programs
* Bachelor degree in Electrical / Communications Engineering or related field
Salary Range: $100,300 - $150,500
Salary Range 2: $124,900 - $187,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
