Job Description

USGP has an opportunity for a PRN OR TECHNOLOGIST to provide services to our military service members, their families, and veterans within FORT BELVOIR ARMY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

Benefits:
  • Competitive Pay $51.64 ($1.00 shift differential for nights 7p-7a)
  • Schedule: 8 or 12 shifts.
  • Examples:
  • _ 6:45am – 7:15pm _
  • 2:45 pm - 11:15pm
  • 11:15 pm - 7:15 am
  • C:45 am - 3:15 pm
  • C:45 pm - 7:15 am
  • Will need to have weekend availability
Qualifications:
  • Degree/Education: Graduate from Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or completion of a formal training program provided by any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) for surgical technicians, surgical technologists or operating room technicians.
  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Must have an active BLS through American Heart Association or military program
  • Experience: 1 year of full-time Surgical Technology experience within the last 2
Job Duties:

To include but not limited too:

  • Perform the full spectrum of sterile techniques, setting up surgical trays, preparing and draping patients for surgery, and assisting with post-operative
  • Ensure surgical packs are cleaned and packed for sterilization after every procedure, including restocking surgical
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment for the patient either by active participation in the cleaning of clinical spaces, operating rooms, and medical equipment, or by guiding other personnel in the environmental
    • Ensure a safe and sterile environment
    • Quickly respond to surgeon's needs
    • Adjust and test equipment
    • Prepare patient for surgery
    • Connect surgical equipment and monitoring devices
    • Sponge/suction operative sites, prepare suture material, and dispense appropriate fluids and drugs
    • Prepare OR for the next case after the operation
    • Participate in staff meetings
    • Schedule surgeries and pull reports when needed
