Position Description
Origis Energy is looking for a Demand Planning Manager, Supply Chain, to join our Equipment Procurement Construction organization and join our growing team. This person will join an experienced team with the main objective of driving demand planning and financial processes and standards across solar PV systems and components. The spend on major capital equipment will be at least $2+ billion over next few years and the successful candidate will help to develop and implement best-in-class planning processes to effectively maximize value in the development, construction, and operations project phases. The successful candidate will help to develop and implement best-in-class planning and financial processes, as well as providing guidance and validation for strategic supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage demand planning and financial processes, including working with sales, finance, and a variety of external stakeholders to consolidate a demand plan and oversee an equipment cash flow forecast.
- Become the financial lead for all aspects of the company’s supply chain, logistics, and operations activities.
- Responsible for working internally and externally to identify areas of operational and financial improvement to drive efficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
- Develop strategies to drive organization of our demand plan (energy project portfolio), including publishing a weekly demand forecast and partnering to reconcile any demand-supply disparities.
- Close alignment with finance business leaders to ensure operations are supported in a consistent and aligned manner with corporate finance.
- Responsible for monitoring of Operational budgets in partnership with Corporate Finance.
- Provide operational analysis to identify variances. Provide root cause determinations for those variances and identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Champion efforts to eliminate manual work, streamline and standardize processes, automate key activities, and create standard templates and ensure adherence to all financial and key business process controls and procedures.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of operational and financial KPI’s to include process improvement, cost management and productivity and lead projects to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
- Support the broader operations team in other supply chain, logistics, fulfillment, and other related areas involving budgeting and other ad hoc requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in STEM or MBA, or extensive experience in supply chain operations
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
- Advanced MS Office and Excel skills. Knowledge of SAP and other business intelligence / reporting tools is preferred. Familiarity with SAP.
- Solid understanding of operational financial planning & analysis, cost accounting and inventory control.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and achieving cost savings.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Solar Energy supply chains and their respective components (PV modules, inverters etc.)
- A true business partner, who uses effective verbal and written communication skills to understand/ analyze the business.
- Strong product knowledge of logistics industry, including the transfer and warehousing of facility construction and associated components (panels, inverters, racking etc.)
- Familiarity with the exportation/importation of equipment/materials
- Experience with a solar energy developer or solar EPC contractor
- APICS or equivalent is a plus
