Job Description

The Product Development Engineer role is an engineering role at Asensus and will be tasked with different projects within a specified engineering discipline to support the development of surgical device systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities relating to the building, testing and evaluation of a surgical device systems
  • Contributes to the completion of routine technical tasks as directed
  • Develops solutions to routine technical problems of a specified scope within engineering discipline
  • Applies basic technical principles and concepts to the engineering tasks asked to complete
  • Review and analyze, including formal reports, such things as product concepts, requirements, test results, patents, etc.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, including company design control procedures.
  • Optimize design for DFM/DFA.
  • Assist in document control and maintenance of design history file.
  • All other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline with 2-4 years experience in FDA Regulated Industry, preferably Medical Device
  • Masters Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline with 1-3 years experience in FDA Regulated Industry, preferably Medical Device
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to cross-reference documentation from different areas to ensure consistency and compliance to established requirements.
  • Proven ability to interpret, analyze, and present technical information using practical judgment.
  • Experience in Solidworks and similar CAD/CAM programs preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environment, Outlook, Excel, MS project, 3D Solids CAD/CAM software preferred
  • Capable of working in a cross-functioning team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
