Job Description

The Product Engineer Manager is responsible for NPI execution – you will be managing and working with our design, product & test development team in the US, EU, and APAC; supporting new product introduction projects & activities to ensure a smooth transition of these new products from development to manufacturing phase.

We are looking for someone to manage a team of Product Engineers for on-time introduction and productization of new products by supporting package development, product qualification, product characterization, reliability assessment, manufacturability, yield entitlement, and ramp readiness.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Working manager to lead a team of product engineers with day-to-day product engineering tasks related to new product development
  • Guide team to interface with quality, reliability and failure analysis teams to define optimized qualification and reliability plan for new product introduction
  • Collaborate with test team for defining the ATE characterization methodology for guaranteeing datasheet performance through temperature testing and for production limits and guard band setting to ensure yield and manufacturability
  • Perform data analysis, yield enhancement, product cost reduction and device reliability improvement
  • Set the right priorities and goals and monitor performance with the aim of nurturing and building talent and continuously improving PE execution metrics
  • Ensure execution of project aligned to committed schedule. React with urgency to ensure problems are addressed before they impact schedule or cost
  • Effectively communicate with team and leadership
  • Build collaborative relationships with other functional and cross functional teams to improve execution efficiency and successful hand-off from development to mass production

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or similar degree.
  • 15+ Years’ experience in the semiconductor industry working in a product engineering-type role is preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience with leading or managing a team is preferred
  • Experience working within a mixed-signal PMIC or digital multiphase controller is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of operation and testing of power management products have good failure analysis techniques to be able to troubleshoot and improve analog/mixed-signal IC's.
  • Experience with bringing consumer and industrial new products from definition to production release including characterization and reliability testing
  • Knowledge of IC manufacturing processes including fab, assembly, and test
  • Statistical analysis capability including knowledge of JMP, gauge R&R, limit setting and DOE is a plus
  • Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are a must
  • Must possess some experience or background in a technical management role and represent skills in project management, planning, organizing, multitasking, efficient problem solving, and delivering to commitments
