Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Product Manager for Networking will manage all aspects of an assigned product category to maximize product sales to worldwide while meeting profit metrics. Work closely with customers, sales, engineering, and operations to grow AV networking business within Legrand AV. Develop product roadmap and continuous improvement plans to capitalize customer, channel, and technology trends. Lead cross-functional teams to research, conceive, design, develop and deliver products to the AV market. Overall responsibilities for the P/L associated with product lines under management
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILTIES
- Achieve defined sales, profit and expense targets for the networking product lines
- Actively define, lead and manage the product line strategy and direction for the AV Networking category for both Residential and Commercial AV segments.
- Create Product Requirement Documents (PRD) associated with new product introduction (NPI) identifying market opportunity, sales channels, use cases, and product requirements. Establish business case, technical requirements, and market needs within the PRD.
- Coordinate with marketing and sales team to create launch plans, providing guidance of positioning, competitive landscape, and target applications.
- Define continuous improvement projects for product lines including feature improvements, cost reductions, and pricing adjustments
- Participate in S&OP with sales and operation to establish sales forecast and operations demand plan for assigned product lines.
- Identify opportunities to penetrate and grow new and existing business and then coordinate with operation, marketing, engineering, and sales team to execute.
- Foster teamwork between Sales, Engineering, Operations and Marketing departments.
- Maintain pulse of the customer through continued engagement with AV integrators, Consultants, and End-users. Serve as subject matter expert on assigned product lines. This includes supporting sales team with customer engagements, establishing and maintaining strategic industry partnerships, identifying vertical market opportunities, and keeping apprised of competitive landscape.
- Work with marketing team to define strategy, establishing product positioning and market messages
- Effectively define and present information to executive management team regarding performance, plans and projections
- Build and strengthen relationships with key players/decision makers at the executive level of our major customers
- Assist in the planning and development of budgets and managing projects for senior staff. Participate in complex projects, as assigned
- Consistently support compliance by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable laws and regulations

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Proven record in product management, business development, sales and marketing research. This should include experience performing and compiling research as well as documenting and communicating results with recommendations
- Ability to translate customer requirements, market trends, competitive landscape into innovative products that can be implemented by product development team.
- Able to implement project management principles to deliver product on budget and schedule. Ability to multi-task and manage several projects through completion at one time; while providing high attention to details
- Experienced in solving problems ranging from customer relationship to technical implementations.
- Must be exceptional in communicating to diverse set of product stakeholders ranging from customers and internal engineering, sales, marketing, and operations staff.
- Ability to work in a team environment, and leverage additional resources as needed
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of personnel in multiple departments
- Demonstrated ability working with minimal supervision and exercising judgment within generally defined policies in developing and implementing strategies for results
- Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential information
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, business administration, or marketing with a minimum of three (3) years working experience, with at one year experience in technical sales, product marketing, product management or engineering; or combination of relevant education and experience
Special Job Requirements:
- Requires frequent availability and communication during non-standard business hours to communicate with global team members.
- Must be available for international travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years as Product Manager in the Audio Visual Industry or similar industry.
- Knowledgeable with Home Network or AVoIP network topologies.
- Deep understanding of Networking to include both WiFi and wired switchers.
- Understanding of residential and/or commercial AV markets.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for tradeshow set-up purposes
- General office environment
- May require regular ground travel to other company facilities within local metropolitan area
- Long-distance or air travel (including international) as needed - not to exceed 25% travel
