Job Description
Position Overview:
This position provides leadership in formulation and implementation of product line strategy, marketing plans and growth programs, and new product development / customer value propositions to enhance sales and profitability growth for the Switchboard products within the Panelboard and Switchboard (P&S) product line. The Product Manager drives/completes all marketing activities and documents required for P&S PROLaunch New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. Involved in business development with P&S product line team, collaborating closely with Eaton's North American Sales (NAS) teams on strategic customer opportunities to grow revenue and market share. Works closely with P&S Product Engineering Manager / team and sister product line teams (e.g. ACB, MCCB, ATS, Metering) to drive customer solutions / innovation in the P&S business. The Product Manager must have an excellent knowledge of the product line's customers (Contractors, Industrial, Data Center, OEM), core and emerging vertical market segments, and a thorough understanding of the dynamics of selling engineered assemblies.

In this function you will:
- Work closely with Product Line Mgr. / Product Line leadership team to achieve P&S Profit Plan Financials annually. Attain Orders Entered (OE), Sales Billed (SB), Price, and margin / cost objectives for new products developed. Business Development for product line.
- For P&S innovation / new product development, own, lead and execute the VOC (voice of customer) process & collection into the product line. Transform inputs into new product development ideas / projects.
- Lead P&S product line preparation for and participation in the annual AE meeting, and develop overall presentation / product line update.
- Perform competitive analysis and development product competitive comparisons as needed. Maintain a pulse on the competition (their product offering, footprint, and go to market strategy).
- Develop, update and implement P&S Marketing plan (annual). Create required product line sales tools, collateral and communications. Lead product line's participation in division wide marketing programs (i.e. Satellite Open Houses, ECCN, Spec Share, etc.).
- Provide bi-monthly market update / analysis (with projections) and market intelligence to the product line manager. Support PLM with forecasting as required.
- Execute all Marketing responsibilities, documents required in PROLaunch new product development projects. Provide Product Roadmap input and drive key alignment to Breaker (ACB, MCCB, MCB) & metering teams.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- Five (5) years engineering experience in Panelboards & Switchboards, Power Systems Electrical Distribution and/or field sales engineer experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates residing outside of a 50-mil radius of Sumter, SC; Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC.
Preferred qualifications:
- Seven (7) years' experience with Panelboard and Switchboard products is preferred.
Position Criteria:
- Must be able to travel (up to 25%) as necessary to effectively interface with customers and other required contacts, to work at various outside/inside site locations, and to manage or participate in company related projects, activities, or other job-related assignments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Forms, Word, PowerBI), Bid Manager, Sales Reporting, VISTA.
- Possess a broad knowledge of principles and practices within a field of specialization (electrical engineering) and an understanding of business strategies, culture and work to achieve results.
- Work closely with P&S Satellite Managers and NAS teams to develop / execute strategies & plans to achieve overall Product Line sales, profitability and market share objectives.
- Determines customer / market segment targets to enhance objectives. Develop plans to capture targets.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner is essential to success -- oral, written, and in presentation format. Interfaces include upper management, peers, and customers (external and internal).
- Evaluate market conditions (potential, economic environment, competitor tactics / product offering) in order to provide / set volume forecasts and price level expectations.
- Determines product requirements for acceptance in the marketplace and provides this input to product development / product line management functions.
- Candidate must possess a good understanding of technical applications and possess strong knowledge of UL and NEC requirements.
- Candidate needs to have a working knowledge of the overall sales function, and customer channels, and be able to anticipate customer needs to maximize Eaton's ability to obtain new business.
