A Snapshot 

 

As the APAC Program Director, you will report to the VP of Development and work closely with Development, Construction and PMO teams, making your mark in several ways: 

  • Identify opportunities to continually improve our project executions across the APAC region. 
  • Develop and implement framework and program strategies, working closely with project stakeholders across the APAC region to oversee and execute scheduling initiatives and governance
  • Provide expert advice and support to Schedulers, Project Managers and other project stakeholders to optimise project delivery through effective scheduling and risk mitigation 


Your Day to Day 

  • Develop, manage and mentor high performing teams. 
  • Onboard, manage and develop third party consultants and specialists to support.
  • Develop and implement framework, processes and procedures to ensure strong governance. 
  • Review and advise on project programs to ensure we remain the leader in our industry in all markets.  
  • Identify and manage risks. 
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve our project deliveries and timelines.  
  • Implement a robust framework for scheduling governance, ensuring all processes and procedures are followed.  
  • Engage proactively with project leaders to align on objectives and timelines, ensuring project targets are met.
  • Offer strategic oversight and counsel to the PMO and Project Managers regarding schedule management.
  • Serve as a mentor and leader, providing support and guidance to Development and Project Managers, and be the point of escalation for any scheduling concerns
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
  • Analyse and assess design solutions and assist with pre-construction planning to provide advice and recommendation on scheduling, construction sequencing, buildability, phasing, and identify opportunities for optimisation
  • Manage and support Pre-Construction and Project Managers in strategic planning to track delivery, monitor progress, and manage risk and opportunities to prevent delays and ensure compliance.
  • Support pre-construction efforts informing tender packages, bid templates, tender evaluations, and provide insight and recommendations during the procurement phase
  • Conduct negotiations with general contractors, and evaluate and challenge program and buildability, to ensure safety, quality, time and cost outcomes are achieved
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of progress and schedule trends to detect issues and suggest the necessary corrective actions
  • Prepare reports and presentations that detail project progress and adherence to schedule for senior leadership
  • Provide regular reporting, updates and presentations to senior management and internal stakeholders including progress reporting, risk assessments, investment committees, customer proposals and business case development.
  • Lead and manage scheduling innovation and maintain oversight, managing relationships with external scheduling consultants and implement audit regime
  • Communicate schedule-related information, updates, and recommendations to project teams, general contractors and stakeholders via reports, presentations, and meetings.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on scheduling best practices, methodologies, and tools for effective scheduling 
  • Continuously evaluate and optimise project schedules to enhance efficiency, resource utilisation, and project performance
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the project teams  
  • Provide regular reporting, updates and presentations to senior management and internal stakeholders including progress reporting, risk assessments, investment committees, customer proposals and business case development. 

Minimum Requirements:  

  • 10 years proven experience as a Planner/Scheduler for construction projectsyears experience working if the industry.  
  • 5 years experience managing high performing teams.  
  • Experience with large infrastructure projects.   
  • Leadership experience in developing, managing and mentoring high performing team of planners. 
  • Technical qualification in a relevant Construction / Engineering discipline or proven ability as a scheduler in a similar environment. 
  • 7 years proven experience as a Planner/Scheduler for construction projects 
  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling software Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex project data and identify trends, patterns, and insights. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage, collaborate, consult, advise, influence and negotiate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently, and across multiple teams managing simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication and problem-solving skills  
  • Ability and willingness to think outside the square, be innovative and solutions orientated to drive safety, quality, time, and cost outcomes 
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office including Outlook, Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint  
  • High level of integrity and resilience. 
  • Willingness to travel throughout Asia-Pacific 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Previous experience working in Asia-Pacific including Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.  
  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling software Primavera P6 
  • Experience in building data centre projects.
