Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Program Management Director with a specialization in Transit to join our East Transportation Business line. This role will focus on major Transit programs in the Baltimore / Mid-Atlantic Region.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage programs that are large in size, have high risk reward, are of high strategic value and/or have the highest level of execution complexity.
  • Provide the organization with technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery.
  • Champion for ethical and safe working practices.
  • Drives innovation in program management approaches and methodology to achieve marketplace differentiation.
  • Works with Regional leadership, and Market Sector Leaders to identify new business opportunities and develop solutions to address them.
  • Identifies areas of high risk and pro-actively takes actions to positively impact program outcomes.
  • Accountable for overall financial success and delivery of AECOM Program Management agreement
  • Set long term goals and strategies and establish effective management of internal and external interfaces and interdependencies across the program.
  • Utilize technical capability across all large project / program phases including design, planning, construction, operations and maintenance
  • Build consensus to change program strategy in challenging situations.
  • Develop strong relationships and manage all client stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Manage others practicing the program management competencies on a number of complex programs.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in engineering, architecture, project management or similar and12 years related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years experience in a program management leadership role
  • PMI-PgMP, APM-RPP or CMAA-CCM Certification (or equivalent)
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Experience of progressive contracting models including Progressive Design Build (PDB), Alliancing and Construction Management at Risk
  • Experience with funding mechanisms, P3 contracting models, or equivalent arrangements
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of expertise in applicable technical areas or an aspect of program management that frequently is called on by clients and peers to position or deliver complex programs.
  • Significant industry network and known for leading large programs.
  • Knowledge of relevant transit and subway standards and practices
  • Have a detailed understanding of the program management competencies needed for success on complex programs and can critically evaluate and apply the competencies as required.
