Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Serves as Supervisory Deputy Product Director for assigned Acquisition system and/or related mission equipment.

This is a pay banded position. The NH-04 encompasses grades 14 and 15 on the General Schedule.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Must sign DD Form 2888 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written three-year tenure agreement.
  • A Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is required on pre-employment and annually thereafter.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position may have a one-year probationary period.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position is subject to a mobility or rotation agreement as a condition of employment. You will be required to relocate based on management needs for the duration of employment in this or successor positions.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing operational budgets for assigned projects; 2) Analyzing acquisition program evaluation documentation then make any needed adjustments as required; 3) Identifying training needs of subordinates during employee evaluations; and 4) Overseeing acquisition project responsibilities such as: development, acquisition, testing, life cycle support, resources management, contracting, scheduling, personnel or facilities.

This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-03/GS-13) position in the federal service.

Education

  • This position is subject to a salary control point equivalent to the GS-14, step 10 base salary. If the incumbent's salary currently exceeds this level, the salary control point will be at the incumbent's existing salary.

  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
