Purpose:

The Program Manager Policy plays a pivotal role in advancing the policy initiatives of REFORM Alliance. This position is dedicated to providing essential project and administrative support to the Chief Policy & Advocacy Officer and the policy team, ensuring that all policy-related activities are executed efficiently and effectively. The Program Manager will be instrumental in coordinating policy goals, managing key projects, and facilitating communication between the policy team and other internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, this role supports the day-to-day operations of the policy team by monitoring communications and managing scheduling, calendaring, and travel arrangements, enabling the Chief Policy & Advocacy Officer to focus on strategic objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

Program Support:

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Chief Policy & Advocacy Officer and the policy team, including responding to research requests, preparing bios, and organizing materials for meetings with stakeholders.
  • Help coordinate and track the progress of policy goals and initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall organizational objectives.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing systems and processes (e.g., Asana, meeting templates) to support the ongoing work of the policy team.

Administrative Support:

  • Monitoring daily communications and managing workflow for the Chief Policy & Advocacy Officer. 
  • Manage scheduling, calendaring, and travel arrangements for the Chief Policy & Advocacy Officer and policy team members.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, including preparing agendas, taking notes, tracking action items, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Maintain regular communication with the policy team and other departments to ensure seamless coordination of activities.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Chief Policy & Advocacy Officer, the policy team, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop materials (e.g., one-pagers, briefs) to support policy initiatives and communications.
  • Ensure that relevant staff and partners are kept informed about policy updates, initiatives, and needs as they arise.

Project Management:

  • Support the Chief Policy & Advocacy Officer in managing special projects, ensuring they align with the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Track departmental activities and ensure that all projects are executed efficiently and effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • At least five years of experience in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on program management, policy support, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement systems and processes in a rapidly changing organizational setting.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to continuous learning and personal growth.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and manage complex relationships.
  • Flexibility and goal orientation, with a willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel as needed.
  • Passion for criminal justice reform and a commitment to supporting policy initiatives that drive meaningful change.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative on new projects.


Salary Range: $90,000-$105,000
