role
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assure access to high quality ingredients through efficient and effective ingredient qualification project management.
- Responsible for implementation and qualification project management of cross-functional ingredient qualification process to ensure new ingredients and suppliers meet compliance and fit-for-use requirements in Abbott finished products, plants/third-party manufacturers and processes. Facilitate stakeholder activities for over 18 functional areas (including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain) within Abbott Nutrition involved in qualifying ingredients used in the manufacture of finished product.
- Support project scope and navigate deliverables in support of Abbott's new product development, cost savings and risk mitigation goals.
- Responsible for managing straightforward to medium scale ingredient qualification projects from beginning to end, with accountability for project execution and timeline management inclusive of supplier engagement.
- Demonstrate stewardship and provide project leadership to meet Division strategies and business objectives
- Deliver project excellence by incorporating best practices in project management and business excellence to meet and or exceed customer needs
- Act as point of contact for project reporting & updates.
- Initiate and manage Project Initiation Electronic Requests (PIERs) to obtain approvals for projects to commence
- Maintain Power BI Ingredient Qualification Metrics and lead development of enhancements to support Enterprise Excellence, Management Operating System (MOS) boards and Devex data reporting and visualizations.
- Maintain data, systems and tools in support of ingredient qualification project portfolio management and metrics.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate to establish team and required qualification milestones.
- Develop and manage project plan to meet deliverables and first-lot-to-stock dates.
- Interface with external suppliers to collect pertinent quality and compliance information.
- Facilitate completion of assigned qualification tasks.
- Participate in project assessments and communicate lessons learned.
- Responsible for execution of scope change management and project close-out processes.
- Provide cross-functional forecasting, tracking, reporting and oversight on project budget, expenditures and metrics.
- Facilitate qualification project team members through the qualification management process; ensure team is working within project scope and addressing questions for project reviews.
- Utilize IT systems to execute qualification projects, resource tracking and metric development.
- Manage cross-functional project timeline and follow-up with project team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Collaborate with representatives from appropriate functional areas across the division to meet qualification objectives.
- Resolve project team conflicts and facilitate escalations, if required.
- Responsible for identifying critical project issues and risks, and timely communication to leadership and other project leads, where applicable.
- Lead a project team as part of a larger new product development project or a stand-alone, supply-chain driven project.
- Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine to meet established schedule.
- Exercise authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING:
Required
- Bachelors Degree
- 2+ years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area.
Preferred:
- Masters Degree
- Ability to manage, communicate, and coordinate the ingredient qualification phases of Pre-Qualification, Supplier Assessment, Ingredient Assessment, Finished Product Assessment Approval and Communication.
- Understanding of quality and compliance culture
- Demonstrated skills in collaborating and influencing cross-functionally
- Demonstrated leadership competencies
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong planning and execution skills
- Engagement with external parties, i.e. vendors
- Strong integration skills; ability to coordinate all aspects of a project
- Experience with Power BI, Sharepoint, Planview, Devex and Microsoft Office apps
Certifications:
- PMP Desired but not required
