Position Description
Origis Energy is looking for an experienced Project Development Manager or Director, Distributed Power to join our growing, experienced project development team with the main objective of driving additional pipeline growth and project successes in both distributed scale solar and energy storage. Â Knowledge of three or more of the following is required: solar siting and land acquisition documentation, Federal, State & Local solar project permitting, interconnection study process experience, clean energy financial modeling experience, a technical understanding of solar + storage projects, RFP assembly and response support, PPA negotiations support, project finance negotiations support and/or wholesale market/RTO market operations knowledge.
The position of Project Development Manager or Director, Distributed Power reports to the Managing Director Distributed Power and is a regular, full-time position eligible for our generous employee benefits package; including employer paid health insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions, and other great benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of all aspects of solar and storage project de-risking with the objective of a fully financeable project portfolio
- Support business development and DG pipeline target by conducting early-stage project due diligence including project feasibility based on: regulations, risks, permitting requirements, incentives, economics, and development timing to reach financial close and NTP
- Interface directly with the following external parties: landowners, customers, authorities have jurisdiction such as city councils, zoning and planning commissions, and other stakeholders.
- Manage external technical resources and other SMEs as needed to support project development
- Advance projects through the interconnection approval process to secure an interconnection agreement
- Assist the Director in organizing and improving existing workflows, establish processes and promote best practices within the Development Team and across the organization
- Assist in PPA negotiations and management customer relations during development
- Support Origis Finance through financial close
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance
- Manage vendors and project budgets through SAP system
 Preferred Qualifications
- BS and/or BA, MBA preferred
- 3-10+ years of increasingly progressive development / origination / solar finance experience
- Familiarity with solar development tools such as: PV Syst outputs, constrained project layouts, interconnection study results, permit studies and financial models
- Experience utilizing project management pipeline software
- Knowledge of a significant portion of the solar development process and willingness to learn
- Familiarity with landowner negotiations and willingness to engage and expand skill set
- Experience managing project development consultants
- Experience delivering high quality reporting to direct and senior management via PowerPoint
