Project Engineer, SYNCHRO & Digital Transformation duties:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of new software tools and digitalization processes and technologies, prototypes, and components in TRUMPF production units.
- Coordinate and manage digital transformation projects and specific assignments while applying Lean manufacturing, SYNCHRO (internal process improvement system) and Quality Management tools.
- Drive organizational change using digital solutions to improve production performance.
- Implement digital change plans.
- Help others understand and buy into the vision of using digital tools in their daily work.
- Develop project plans while incorporating both short- and long-term strategies, coordinate project team activities, communicate changes and progress to team members, maintain data and report to track progress, monitor work to ensure quality, display commitment to excellence, meet productivity standards, and complete projects on-time and within budget.
- Provide technical support regarding design and deployment of new software tools and business process automations.
- Recommend and coordinate needed changes based on process analysis and engineering specifications.
- Coordinate and manage multiple software projects and project teams, e.g. process improvement projects and digitalization projects.
- Assist in the implementation and data analysis of Strategic Production Planning, Plant Layout, Continuous Process Improvement and Lean Manufacturing following SYNCHRO principles by utilizing modern software tools.
- Support SYNCHRO activities and improve product flow by implementing different software solutions to digitalize shopfloor and improve internal operations processes.
- Perform value stream mapping and data analysis of process flow through different department areas.
- Responsible for development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of robotic process automations, various digital solutions, and tools.
- Develop process flows and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or related field. 6 months of training or experience as an engineer or related or one university course that includes the following (may be concurrent with degree): Object oriented design or programming; Software development using Java, JavaScript, and Python; Database design, visualization of data, and SQL; Machine learning; Computer networks and protocols; Engineering algorithms; R or MATLAB programming.
