Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Resources Project Manager to work remotely within the United States.

The Senior Water Resources Project Manager will support and lead projects for water resource clients primarily in Michigan such as MDNR and USACE, but to also include national projects including planning, designing, and preparing plans related to water resources planning and infrastructure.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Technical oversight of design staff and team members for water resources projects including but not limited to dam removal and river restoration, dam modifications or dam H&H studies, floodplain modeling and mapping studies, and transportation drainage design.
  • Identifies new business opportunities for AECOM, coordinates and participates in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promotes AECOM's capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients.
  • Participates in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and the preparation of AECOM's qualification/experience statements.
  • Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and drafts complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.
  • Directs project team and client compliance with contract terms and monitors subcontractors' compliance with contractual commitments.
  • Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • May supervise technical professionals, associate project managers, and design staff including workload and staffing management.
  • Monitors and reports financial status of projects to technical managers.
  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS and 6+ years or relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten (10) or more years of related experience
  • Three (3) or more years performing project management
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Michigan or the ability to obtain one within first 6 months of employment.
  • Experience and familiarity with some or all of the following programs: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SRH-2D, xpSWMM, HydroCAD, FHWA Toolbox, HY-8, ArcGIS, AutoDesk Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary Analysis / Pipe Networks or MicroStation Geopak Drainage
  • Experience working with clients in Michigan.
  • Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.

  • Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000
