Work Shifts SHIFT II 9:00am - 5:00PM Job Description PURPOSE OF POSITION: Under general supervision, coordinate and implement all aspects of Risk Management and Patient Safety projects and programs to ensure that organizational goals of time, cost, and quality standards are met and perform related management activities. SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serve as a liaison between Associate CMO and Risk Management/Patient safety units by relaying instructions/information and following commitments through to completion. • Responsible for all aspects of Risk Management/Patient Safety project lifecycle, including planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery, including the development of administrative and operational processes, templates, procedures/protocols, and other core documents. • Oversee data collection, compilation, and analysis to evaluate performance and competence; develop and design action plans to support performance and competency. • Create and maintain a risk management/patient safety information system for data collection and processing, information analysis, and generating statistical trending reports to identify and monitor adverse/patient safety events, claims, etc. • Assist in the preparation of quarterly summary reports to the NYC Health and Hospitals Board of Directors. • Participates in internal/external performance improvement risk/patient safety reduction strategy activities, programs, training, and identifies problems and recommends standard, cost-effective measures, and improvements. • Consults with departmental leadership and other key stakeholders to develop implementation schedules and provides support to the development and implementation of various operational plans and technical/logistical tracking systems to meet operational needs. • Provides technical guidance in the development of Risk Management and Patient Safety administrative and operational processes, templates, procedures/protocols, and other core documents. • Provides overall project/program management activities, including utilizing project/program management tools and techniques to organize, plan, execute, report, and evaluate project/program objectives. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration from an accredited college or university; and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administrating, managing, coordinating or expediting for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or 2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in 1 above; or 3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of the experience and/or college education as described in 1 above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. One year of credit will be given for each 30 semester credits of college education leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or in public administration. Special Note: Experience which is primarily of a design nature is not acceptable towards meeting the minimum requirements.
