What you'll be doing

Product Security Project Manager role leads security activities on a wide range of products simultaneously. They work for the product security leader owning the schedule for product security activities, driving on-time delivery and transparent communication with product teams and security engineers through the new product development and post-marketing phases of product development. There is a high level of interaction and influence with the product security team and project teams to ensure the teams make and keep schedule commitments. The Product Security Project Manager role follows product development processes and integrates best practices for product security (cybersecurity) to ensure products are designed and maintained to be secure. The person in this role must be independent with strong leadership skills to own management of security projects with little direction.

Provides direction to product security team members that are responsible for producing product security deliverables, following up to ensure issues are quickly surfaced and addressed. Enables technical product security team members to focus on technical details, while being their representative on project teams. Exhibits creativity and innovation in completing divisional and cross-functional/business unit goals and objectives.

  • Establishes and tracks team deliverables and budgets for project completion
  • Work directly with technical team members to plan and execute project deliverables such as cybersecurity threat model, cybersecurity risk assessment SBOMs, MDS2s, pen testing.
  • Work directly with technical team members and Project Core Team to plan roadmap for security deliverables, penetration test, and cybersecurity certification activities.
  • Lead product security communication by interacting with Project Manager, Project Core Team and extended teams to ensure effective communications and manage expectations
  • Support communication and coordination for vulnerability incident response handling activities
  • Coordinate project documentation
  • Create and maintain project schedules
  • Leads tracking and communication of project risks
  • Anticipates potential conflict situations for proactive solutions and manages conflict situations to result in win-win outcomes
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. 10 years previous product life cycle experience including 5 years project management experience with demonstrated success leading multi-site, projects in the medical products industry
  • Business acumen
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong leadership potential
  • Understanding of Product Development Process requirements
  • Familiarity with software development, product security (cybersecurity) and privacy best practices
  • Familiarity with medical device security regulations and standards, vulnerability handling and disclosure processes, management of penetration test results
  • Experience with scheduling software
  • Product Development experience, familiarity with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Ability to develop others
  • PMI or IPMA or equivalent certification desired

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $112,000 to $216,000, plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
