This position oversees all aspects of project delivery including determining timelines, roles, responsibilities, monitoring project health, identifying, resolving issues, and reporting progress to stakeholders and management. This person will proactively, creatively, and tactfully work with stakeholders and customers to identify and resolve project issues and risks.

As a Project Manager Sr. you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business and project management methodologies.
  • Work with business customers to develop and execute projects designed to support a customer focused, proactive technology services group. Supervise the activities of vendors and contract staff.
  • Maintain understanding of current and evolving business, technology and financial services industry standards and trends along with project management methodologies, standards, software, and best practices to include:

    • Superior leadership qualities including delegation skills , motivation techniques and conflict management
    • Sensitivity to company cultural awareness
    • Determine and define project scope and objectives
    • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
    • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
    • Track project costs in order to meet budget
    • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
    • Provide project updates on a weekly basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, key issues and progress
    • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
    • Conduct issue resolution (both internal and external) in a professional, understanding, calm manner
    • Provide feedback, advice, project updates and encouragement to team members
    • Manage deadlines and push the team professionally to ensure timeliness

  • Lead meetings with project staff, peers, managers, senior leadership, and C-Suite executives within a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Manage vendor, internal and external customer relationships to provide management systems, tools designed to meet business needs, and ensure on time delivery at competitive costs.

  • Consult with Member Firms to obtain input on their technology requirements and issues and coordinate with other internal departments, carriers and vendors to implement appropriate action plans and deliverables based on this information.
  • Establish and maintain integration between internal management systems and interfaces to external systems, and create processes to ensure accuracy.
  • Participate in establishing best practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature technology and business capabilities for the organization.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required or 7+ years of increased responsibility in the area
  • Not required, but highly valued certifications and credentials:

    • PMP certification
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) via Scrum Alliance

    • Professional Scrum Master (PSM) via Scrum.org
    • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) via ScaledAgile.com

  • 7+ years of experience as a project manager managing projects in a mixed Waterfall/Agile environment and analysis experience with systems requirements and design. Experience with business process analysis, design, experience building and managing complex systems and spreadsheets to estimate and manage projects and operations
  • Experience with Financial Services technology experiences including Broker/Dealer and RIAs preferred
  • Strong proficiency in application delivery and the software development life cycle with experience evaluating and selecting software, vendors and products, and managing vendors and consultants
  • Exceptional organizational skills; proven ability to track, prioritize and report the status of multiple projects, with changing requirements/priorities using internal and external resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present materials to diverse groups of various sizes
  • Ability to quickly develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills while maintaining and promoting a respectful and high-performance culture
  • Ability to bring and maintain focus where ambiguity exists for all phases of the project lifecycle

Working Environment:

  • Hybrid work environment offering a blend of virtual/work from home and onsite days designed to support flexibility
  • Normal office environment/desk assignment.
  • Extensive work with spreadsheets, reports and PC's.
  • Potential for light travel, up to 5%
