Purchasing & Project Manager
Maesa is currently seeking an individual to join our Purchasing & Project Management team. This person will be a strategist, organizer, timeline-owner, facilitator, and collaborator managing workflow amongst all cross-functional team members working on a project as well as fillers and other suppliers. They will also own each brand’s budget and be responsible for providing an accurate view of their accounts’ financials and modelling out the financial impact of various scenarios to allow for informed and efficient decision-making.
Pay Range: $90,000/yr - $110,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:Â
Project Management
- Setting the agenda and leading weekly Project Team Meeting for each brand
- Communicating action items and next steps in the recap for each Project Team Meeting
- Publishing late/critical milestones to the brand team to ensure all cross-functional partners are aware of and tracking toward an on-time, in-full launch
- Create project timelines and oversee timely execution of new product launches, in-store merchandising, displays, sampling programs, and on-going improvements to existing items
- Actively work in partnership with cross-functional team members and external stakeholders to validate timelines and find solutions to any obstacles to project completion.
- Hold internal teams accountable for meeting project milestones and escalate risks when necessary
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Budget Creation
- Build and maintain budgets for each brand, retailer, and all new product launches
- Obtain quotes directly from suppliers or through cross-functional teams (Packaging, Testing, Logistics) for cost analyses.
- Present budgets to Finance and/or Leadership Team for program approval
- Escalate margin challenges; work with larger team to come up with margin improvement plans as necessary
Sourcing
- Calculate cost targets, prepare, and send RFQs to contract manufacturing partners
- Negotiate Fill & Assembly pricing and terms, MOQs, and lead times
- Act as main contact for contract manufacturers throughout development process (scheduling weekly calls with Maesa team, tracking submissions and feedback, managing timelines, communicating quantities, etc)
- Work with Master Data to create all new item codes and BOMs, and enter all new item info (MOQs, lead times, supplier, pricing) in MRP system
 Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years of experience in project management
- Experience in one or more of the following categories is required: hair care, skin care, color cosmetics, fragrance.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to be clear and concise.
- Solutions-oriented and results-driven.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities when needed.
