Responsibilities

  • Working on Python applications, requiring strong Python experience
  • Utilizing AWS technologies (S3, EKS, RDS, MWAA, OpenSearch)
  • Having experience with databases and SQL to manage multiple tables connecting to RDS using Python
  • Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment
  • Architect and guide the development of end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale over AWS
  • Develop robust APIs and ensure seamless integration between various platform components
  • Estimate work timelines and deliver on those commitments
  • Identify problems and risks in your work and the work of others, proactively addressing issues as they arise

  • Proficient with Angular for front-end development and Python for back-end systems
  • Proven experience in building scalable, high-performance web applications
  • Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs with Python
  • Familiarity with best practices like TDD and BDD
  • Strong knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Hands-on experience in unit and integration testing
  • In-depth experience with version control systems (preferably GitLab)
  • Collaboration Tools: Confident using tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms
  • Exceptional debugging and optimization skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Nice to have
  • Experience in the financial industry, particularly in investment banking
  • Expertise in defining high-level architectures, including network topology (VPC), compute resources (EC2 instances), storage solutions (S3, EBS), and security controls
  • AWS knowledge and certifications

This posting includes a base salary range EPAM Canada would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate. Individual compensation offers within the range are based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, training, the demand for the role, skillset, and overall business and local labour market considerations.
