About the role

We are currently looking to recruit an ambitious and enthusiastic QHSE Associate to join our safety team based in Buggenhout, Belgium on a fixed term contract basis

The role cover 3 of our sites in Belgium and is responsible for maintaining contact with the occupational health service, organising health checks and immunisations, maintaining contact with government agencies on environmental related matters and monitoring and planning the necessary external inspections, in conjunction with our technical department

Main responsibilities

In this role you'll:

  • Plan and follow up safety & quality training courses
  • Participate in ad hoc and repetitive safety campaigns
  • Manage environmental and safety reporting
  • Prepare and update toolboxes
  • Consult with team leaders to keep risk analysis and instruction cards up to date.
  • Maintain contact with safety related suppliers.
  • Draw up intervention files & carry out evacuation exercises
  • Support operations managers in relation to daily safety, quality, and environmental issues
  • Manage the relevant contractors
  • Provide Safety communication at all sites
  • Perform Ad hoc quality tests in production.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits.
  • Support our complaints system


Experience & qualifications

To be successful in this role you need:

  • To have demonstrable administration skills
  • To ideally be degree qualified to bachelor level
  • To maintain regular interaction with all colleagues across the business, including the shopfloor, in relation to environmental and safety issues
  • To be a practical team player who leads by example
  • Experience in MS Office packages, with the ability to create presentations and documents
  • To be adept at planning, both at a broad and detailed level
  • To be assertive and communicative, but also empathic
  • To be trilingual in Dutch, French and English
