UPM Raflatac is looking for a Quality & Continuous Improvement Engineer for Mills River Paper Laminates Group.

The UPM Raflatac Mills River facility is actively seeking a Quality & Continuous Improvement Engineer. We are looking for an individual who is detail-oriented, motivated, congenial, and possesses a systematic problem-solving approach with a high quality-oriented mindset. What you will do
- You will ensure adherence to quality standards, procedures, and guideline
- You will resolve quality-related issues through investigation and root cause analysis; collaborate with quality and production teams for corrective actions
- You will aid in formulating processes throughout the product lifecycle and maintain related documentation; partner with suppliers to verify quality specifications of materials
- You will be responsible for cross-departmental efforts to increase effectiveness, curtail unnecessary use of resources, and refine procedural workflows; oversee programs for betterment, scrutinize performance statistics for emerging trends, and steer efforts to improve processes through to their fulfillment
- You will assist in creating and revising SOPs and TWIs for quality and continuous improvement; educate team members on quality processes and methodologies, advocating for a culture of continuous learning
- You will investigate product deviations, defects, and non-conformities; use methodologies like Six Sigma and DMAIC to pinpoint issues; recommend and apply corrective/preventive measures
- You will engage closely with teams across engineering, production, supply chain, and business units; contribute to cross-functional meetings and process optimization; ensure alignment of quality and continuous improvement efforts through effective communication
Who you are
- You excel in engaging with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and fostering effective communication channels to share insights and updates
- You maintain meticulous documentation and ensure precision in all aspects of quality management and process improvement, investigating deviations and defects, and implementing corrective and preventive measures based on thorough analysis
- You direct initiatives aimed at elevating quality and optimizing procedures, aligning assets and deadlines to fulfil objectives, and analyzing performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement, using data-driven insights to support decision-making processes
- You educate and assist team members with quality processes and continuous improvement, cultivating an environment where ongoing learning and advancement are prioritized
- You ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations, developing and maintaining quality management documentation and procedures
- You have a university degree in relevant field, min. 3-5 years of experience in a similar role or field
