Job Summary
What's the job?
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the inspection, testing, and performance of products manufactured at the Williamsport, MD plant to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervision
- Responsible for staffing, mentoring, and developing the Quality Control team.
- Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, & Union to facilitate the completion of Company, Plant, & Role Objectives
Quality System Administration
- Maintain records to comply with third party product certification program and ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
- Conduct internal and support external regulatory audits.
- Create and continually improve standard work and specification documents.
- Oversee processes to ensure compliance to established product requirements.
- Manage the Certainteed-Williamsport Warranty Claims process
- Track and report conformance metrics and act when unfavorable trends arise.
- Manage product measurement systems and oversee the calibration program.
- Advance product verification capabilities by evaluating, recommending and implementing new technologies.
- Review and approval of change notifications, deviations and corrective actions owned by Quality Control.
- Manage and Improve the Auditing system internal to Certainteed-Williamsport
- Initiator/Facilitator of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Request processes for product conformance and customer acceptance issues.
- Oversees raw material lot approval process, supplier performance evaluations and supplier corrective action process.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills
- Must possess the ability to; (1) understand new concepts quickly; (2) determine the appropriate approach; (3) organize, schedule and coordinate work; and (4) communicate results or progress effectively.
- Experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results and follow-up.
- Measurement system analysis knowledge.
- Ability to develop and implement quality control programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving.
- Skilled in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- A thorough understanding of quality planning and quality improvement tools and techniques.
- Strong Technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office & Web-Based Programs
- Self-motivated and hands-on.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3 Years supervisory experience
- ISO 9001 Auditor Certification preferred
- ASQ Certification preferred
