POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Regional Controller will be responsible for supporting and some oversight of the monthly closing process for Turf Masters Brands. This position interacts daily with other leaders, managers, and colleagues of the various businesses and functional areas. This role also interfaces with the independent external auditors and tax advisors. provides analyses for all departments, fairly represent the financial condition and results of operations of the company, develop controls necessary for the proper conduct of the business, and maintain accurate accounting records.
 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise accounting staff, assigning work duties, coaching, training, and appraising job results.
- Assists with management of all accounting functions including but not limited to accounts receivable/billing, accounts payable, payroll, and treasury.
- Oversees implementation of accounting systems, policies, and procedures
- Reviews and approves journal entries.
- Maintains, reconciles, and administers all general ledger accounts including but not limited to accounts receivable, inventory, and accounts payable.
- Coordinates and ensures accuracy and timeliness of internal and external financial reporting.
- Reviews fixed asset ledgers and ensures all items are properly capitalized and depreciated.
- Assists with coordination of annual independent audit and preparation of supporting schedules/forecasts for annual tax returns.
- Reviews bank reconciliations.
- Assures accurate and timely monthly closing; assists with preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with other Corporate Departments such as Operations, Sales & Human Resources.
- Able to work independently, meet project deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work on multiple projects. Contributes to team effort.
 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 The following roles have a dotted line to the Assistant Controller –, Treasury Analyst &, AP Manager.
 QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, preferred or equivalent experience; CPA/MBA nice to have.
- Computer skills: Sage Intacct Software, UKG Payroll, Chrome River & Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Intermittent/Advance level proficiency)
- Other skills required:
- 6 – 8 years related experience.
- Strong technical understanding and ability to translate technical requirements into easy-to-understand business concepts.
- Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
- Ability to work with all levels of management.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
