The Barnes–Jewish West County Hospital (BJWCH) Sleep/EEG Center is an 8 bed lab accredited member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Sleep Disorders affect more than 70 million Americans. At BJWCH, we provide excellent patient care and education. Overnight sleep testing is performed in a quiet, dark and safe environment with a focus on service excellence and technical quality by Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.

Role Purpose

Provide therapeutic, diagnostic, and assessment–related responsibilities within the Sleep Lab department. Ensure quality clinical outcomes in sleep testing procedures performed throughout the Sleep Lab department, and assistance in education and competency of PSG technician trainees. Able to accurately and efficiently complete test analysis (scoring).

Responsibilities

• Applies electrodes and sensors to patient. Prepares, calibrates, and maintains equipment. Performs positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fittings.
• Performs sleep studies, initiates and maintains various modes of therapy.
• Recognizes and manages various respiratory conditions.
• Scores sleep and wake stages, scores clinical events.
• Generates reports and transfers data to the appropriate media.

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2 years

Supervisor Experience

• No Experience

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Cardiovascular Life Sup
• Cert/Reg in Area of Expertise
