Reliability Engineer

As part of our Catalyst Business Unit located in Louisville, KY you will originate and develop analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment and processes while also acquiring and analyzing data. You will prepare diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements. Often this role conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the required reliability approach for the particular situation, with consideration given to the cost limitations for equipment uptime/ downtime, repair/replacement costs and weight, size and availability of materials/equipment. You will also determine cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliability processes/equipment to avoid failures.

Responsibilities

• You will plan and perform engineering research, design development or manufacturing/process engineering assignments.
• Considers total cost on recommended action plans for avoiding/correcting problems during the design phase.
• Assignments can be broad in nature and require appreciable originality and ingenuity to complete.
• You will support Capital Project Team by assisiting with Risk Analysis, FMEA & Criticality Assessments.
• You will ensure compliance with Clariant policies regarding safety and environmental aspects.
• Responsible for developing specific PM & PdM's to support defined maintenance strategies.
• You will determine specific maintenance strategies for new & existing equipment.
• Create/modify documentation for maintenance procedures.
• Implement and support automonous maintenance programs in conjunction with Plant Engineer and Maintenance.
• Reviewing equipment downtime and maintenance costs to find bad actors.
• Utilizing Lean Sigma tools to analyze processes and develop effective solutions.
• Champion general engineering practices influenced by the general theme of reliability principles and utilize 5-Why Root Cause Analysis tool to document & solve problems when needed.
• You will use PdM tools successfully in the field to assist in condition monitoring of equipment and data collection.
• Provide technical support as part of of the top tier of the escalation process.
• Responsible for entering work orders in SAP to facilitate equipment changes or repairs.
• You will manage and maintain Master Data in SAP relating to Reliability.
• Responsible for developing and deriving various KPIs and reports from SAP, MES & Power BI as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Master's Degree preferred
• Seeking 3+ years of experience in a maintenance and/or reliability function with that experience in a chemical manufacturing environment a major plus
• Lean Sigma/6 Sigma Experience (Green Belt Certification) a Plus
• Experience with Infrared Thermography, Ultrasound or Vibration Analysis highly desired.
• Reliability related certifications are plus.
• You must be team minded but capable of working independently as need with little direction.
• Hands on experience with SAP desired.
• You should have solid communication skills both oral and written
