Job Description Summary
The person in this position will design and execute experiments for their independent project as well as assist and support other members of the lab on other projects. They will be required to think independently, resolve issues that arise and initiate new processes to perform duties more efficiently. Duties include cell culture such as inducible pluripotent stem cells and differentiated cardiac myocytes; experimental design and analysis; immunofluorescent microscopy, RNA and/or DNA isolation; genotyping of mouse DNA using PCR, gel electrophoresis; preparation of tissues and cell culture; western blotting.Â

This position is contingent upon favorable funding.
Job Responsibilities
- Culture and maintain human inducible pluripotent stem cells and differentiated cardiac myocytes.
- Transcriptomics, RNA sequencing, protein proximity labeling.
- Western blotting of human and mouse heart tissues, immunofluorescent imaging and other molecular biology techniques.
- Assist with mouse husbandry, setting up mating pairs, weaning pups, ear tagging, daily checks of the colony and careful record keeping.
- Genotyping of mouse DNA by PCR, get electrophoresis (DNA and protein).
- Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Pay Range
$19.23 - $30.00 Hourly RateSalary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level.
