This role supports the overall health and wellness of clients and staff by ensuring high standards of cleanliness in all common areas, resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, and treatment areas. Also responsible for exterior upkeep and cleanliness. Small maintenance projects and other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities: • Perform routine cleaning of floors, windows, walls, and furniture in common and clinical areas. • Sanitize restrooms, showers, and kitchen areas daily using appropriate disinfectants. • Collect and dispose of trash and biohazard materials according to facility protocols. • Refill supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels in public and staff restrooms. • Maintain cleaning logs and ensure compliance with infection control standards. • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly. • Change and launder linens and towels. • Provide excellent customer service around all functions of housekeeping services for clients. • Sweep and rinse outdoor common areas, wipe down outdoor furniture, daily setup and storage of outdoor furniture and umbrellas • Follow protocols for handling hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). • Support deep cleaning efforts during outbreaks or as part of routine facility maintenance. • Routine maintenance tasks such as light bulb replacement, air filer replacement and other maintenance tasks. • Responsible for washing, vacuuming and sanitizing company vehicles including vans and cars. • Interact professionally and respectfully with clients and staff, maintaining appropriate boundaries. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Previous janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare or residential settings preferred. • Knowledge of safe cleaning practices, including use of chemicals and disinfectants. • Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions. • Must be able to pass background check and adhere to facility confidentiality policies. • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods. Work Environment: This position works indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to biohazards, cleaning chemicals, and clients with behavioral or medical challenges. The janitor must maintain professionalism and adhere to safety and confidentiality standards at all times.
