As an RF Integration and Test Engineer, you will be responsible for integration and validation of the entire wireless RF system for a LEO satellite constellation communication network. In this role, you will leverage your 7+ years of expertise in RF verification of products that have been successfully launched.

 

This position will report to the Sr. Director of Product and Systems Integration, Silicon and will work closely with systems, software, hardware, and test teams that are responsible for delivering the communications payload. This position is based in our Saratoga, CA office.

What you will do:

  • Develop complete RF specifications governing silicon and module-level designs, working with partner teams in Architecture, Product Systems, Algorithm Systems, and RFIC Design
  • Produce RF line-up specifications in close collaboration with the RFIC design team in order to guide the development of test and validation processes and systems
  • Understand system requirements and architecture in depth and formulate detailed test plans to validate the requirements
  • Design lab setups for various types of tests, including radiated chamber tests. Build racks and other test-rigs as necessary for the execution of test plans.
  • Work with external vendors for procuring components and equipment necessary to build test systems
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams such as hardware, software, mechanical, systems, etc., in different time-zones to ensure that system requirements will be met during operation
  • Define test plans and test strategies for lab, field, and in-orbit testing
  • Automate the test execution including control and configuration of test equipment
  • Document test results, test coverage, and other KPIs and communicate updates to all stakeholders regularly
  • Deep-dive into test results in order to root-cause issues and communicate findings to the appropriate teams

What you bring to this role:

  • Masters or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in RF test and validation with a history of launching successful products.
  • Deep understanding of wireless communications principles, especially in the context of satellite systems
  • Strong RF transceiver architectures knowledge including the ability to analyze and test link budgets, antenna signatures, multipath, etc.
  • Hands on experience with RFIC System validation methods and test equipment
  • Proficiency in test automation using Python or similar programming language
  • Working understanding of communications theory and signal processing algorithms
  • Working understanding of digital architecture principles
  • Excellent problem-solving with a from-first-principles approach
  • Flexible, responsive, and collaborative with an ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Strong analytical and communication skills. Team player.

Bonus points for the following:

  • Strong knowledge of 3GPP standards, preferably 5GNR
  • Strong working knowledge of MATLAB, SimuLink, SystemVue, or ADS
  • Satellite, aerospace, or related industry experience

This is a full time, exempt position, based out of our Saratoga office. The target base pay for this position is $150,000 - $220,000 annually. The total compensation packaged will be determined by various factors such as your relevant job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
