10:00am to 7:30pm- 4 days a week

Post-Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) deliver services to multiple surgical specialties in a hospital-based facility. We are a high-energy unit which provides care for patients during the peri-operative process. We have an exceptional unit highlighted by teamwork and dedication.
We have a wide variety of patients, entailing a mix of inpatient and outpatient procedures. This diverse nature provides many educational opportunities for all coworkers. Our environment collaboratively engages process improvements for the betterment of our patients, co-workers, and community.
PACU has excellent teamwork in a diverse setting. There is a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and procedures performed. Our schedule allows for a well-balanced family and work-life.
- 28 bed unit made up of patients having surgery requiring moderate and general anesthesia.
- Variety of surgical procedures recovered including general surgery, orthopedics, neuro, cardiothoracic, vascular, bariatric, urology and more.
- RN ratio 2:1 and 1:1 with patients requiring higher level of care to stabilize. Tech support available.
- Monitoring of patient condition throughout sedation recovery.
- Critical care experience preferred.
- ACLS required with PALS completed prior to end of orientation.
- Fast paced environment requiring excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Collaboration with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other members of the patient care team.
Qualifications:
Education: Current RN license.
Licensure: Meets the criteria to be eligible for licensure in state of Missouri or currently licensed in the state of Missouri.
Certifications:-
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
