The CTRI group has an open position for a Robotics Simulation Engineer. You will work on challenging problems simulating robot sensors, actuators, and autonomous vehicle environments. You will help develop our model-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop development capabilities. These simulations will help to build real-world robotic systems. We are looking for broad, curious candidates who can dive deep into technical problems, and have experience in deploying simulation environments to aid product development.

In This Role You Will
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify requirements, schedule, and deploy simulation projects to enable virtual vehicle design, development, and validation
- Engage with cross functional team members to coordinate on-time delivery of simulation components to meet requirements and timing
- Perform simulation correlation activities based on experimental data
- Create, maintain, and improve standard simulation architectures
- Assist with initiatives to benchmark and adopt next-generation simulation technology and tools
- Identify, implement, and standardize new simulation development processes
- Use modern software engineering techniques to develop modular structured or object oriented software that meets the product requirements. Document and comment code so that it is easily understood and maintained by others. Apply any coding standard followed by the design team.
- Keep up to date with the latest research/technologies in the fields of autonomous driving and simulation
- Have opportunities to continuously learn, attend conferences and tradeshows, and collaborate with our innovative and knowledgeable technical staff in all areas related to autonomous robotics
What you Offer
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field
- A minimum of 4+ Years of Simulation Experience and Software Development
- Excellence at writing C++, C# and Python
- Experience with 3D graphics/game engines, such as Unity and/or Unreal Engine
- Adept with MATLAB and Simulink
- Strong skills in modeling one or more of: vehicle dynamics, sensors, control systems, stochastic systems
- Experience developing and delivering applications/simulation tools in an engineering application
- Comfortable developing with Linux & Git
- A self-motivator with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and to work independently
- Comfortable working as a cross-functional team of roboticists and software engineers
How to Stand Out
- Experience with MATLAB/Simscape
- Desirable to have experience model-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop tools and methodologies
- Experience modeling robotic sensors, such a RGB and stereo cameras, lidar, IMU
- Experience with using/interfacing with GNSS receivers, and constellation modeling
- Experience with CUDA, parallel computing, and/or multi-threading
- Background in autonomous/self-driving systems, or similar real-time safety-critical systems
- Must have authorization to work in the USA

- Competitive Salary - The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $ 80000 - $135000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package.
